The sport
Which is harder, tennis or padel?
Padel is the easier way in. The court is smaller and the rackets have no strings, so you make contact with the ball sooner. Tennis asks for more technique on the backswing.
Is padel good for you?
It's good cardiovascular training and it sharpens your reflexes. The surface is softer than a tennis hard court, which is easier on the joints.
How often a week should I play?
Twice a week is enough to improve quickly. Playing off the glass walls in particular takes repetition before it clicks.
The rackets
Why are padel rackets so expensive?
Carbon layers and an EVA core need precise manufacturing, and that costs money. With the big brands there's a mark-up for professional sponsorship on top. We order directly from the manufacturer and pass that on.
Why do padel rackets have holes?
They cut air resistance and make the racket lighter. At the net that makes it quicker to handle.
How long does a racket last?
At one or two sessions a week, roughly twelve to eighteen months. The core loses elasticity over time, so power and control drop off. If you play more often, you'll replace it sooner.
Do rackets break easily?
Cracks can appear from hitting the fence or the ground. A protector guards the frame against exactly that. Against normal play, good carbon is tough.
Choosing a racket
How do I pick the right racket?
By shape: round for beginners, because the sweet spot is large. Teardrop for everything in between. Diamond for maximum power and clean technique. The racket guide explains weight, balance and core alongside that.
Which racket suits a beginner?
What do the professionals play?
Mostly heavy diamond rackets with a hard surface. Those accelerate the ball hardest on the smash, but they ask for clean technique.
Is a brand-name racket worth it?
Not automatically. Part of the price is sponsorship deals and the name on the frame. What counts is shape, weight, core and carbon density, and we list those on every product page.
Ordering and shipping
How long does delivery take?
One to three working days within Germany. Shipping is free from €75.
Can I try a racket first?
Yes. You book a model for fourteen days, pay €14 in rent and leave the value of the racket as a deposit. When it comes back, the deposit is refunded in full. It's all set out on the rental rackets page.
Can I send it back?
Fourteen days right of withdrawal, as usual for distance selling. The details are in the right of withdrawal.
